The Officine Brera is a 8,500 square ft. renovation inspired by the Brera Design District in Milano, Italy. Originally a 1920’s masonry and steel wearhouse, the new project objective was to design the restaurant around a large central kitchen. A linear spine of glass allows for the flooding of natural light, while two exterior patio dining areas fold down to the ground, forming an entry area. The materials for the building are industrially inspired through the use of corten steel, exposed steel structure, and reclaimed wood, preserving it’s historical character alongside the craft of italian cuisine.
